Guillermo Crespo

Guillermo Crespo is an Equity Partner in the Banking & Finance practice at EY Abogados, based in Madrid. His professional activity is primarily focused on structured finance transactions, including tax lease structures, asset finance, corporate and project finance, as well as financing and refinancing processes. He is also highly experienced in restructuring and insolvency matters.

Guillermo has extensive knowledge of Spanish and EU financial regulation, advising on complex regulatory frameworks affecting financial institutions and corporate clients. His practice includes the legal and regulatory implementation of restructuring projects for major financial and insurance groups, as well as advising on M&A transactions, including cross-border mergers, due diligence processes, and the establishment of EU bank branches in Spain and across the European Union.

He joined EY in 2010 and has developed his career within the firm, being appointed Partner in 2023. Prior to that, he held several senior roles within the Banking & Finance team, including Director, Senior Manager, and Manager.

In addition to his practice, Guillermo is actively involved in academia. He currently serves as a Professor of Corporate Finance at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria and has previously taught Commercial Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICAI-ICADE).

He holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from Afi Escuela de Finanzas and a dual degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
