Gregory Morris, Ph.D. is a Chicago-based partner and leader of Honigman’s life Sciences Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, where he focuses on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device patent litigation for clients across the country.
Armed with more than 20 years of legal experience and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University, Morris represents top pharmaceutical clients on the brand-side in Hatch-Waxman litigation and regularly litigates inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In the first-ever successful defense of an Orange Book-listed patent in an IPR review, he co-led a team of attorneys who represented a pharmaceutical company in the matter.
Honigman’s intellectual property client roster continues to grow with new client wins for life sciences, including pharmaceutical giants. At the helm of this growth is Morris, whose leadership in life sciences intellectual property litigation has awarded the trust of his peers and clients alike. When the Honigman Chicago office opened its doors in 2015, Morris was tapped to launch the national Life Sciences Patent Litigation Practice, including post-grant proceedings.
