Jordan Sazant

Jordan Sazant is an associate in Proskauer's Restructuring Group, with a primary focus on the representation of debtors in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. In addition, Jordan has represented interested stakeholders across company capital structures, including secured lenders, official committees of unsecured creditors, and equity sponsors.

Jordan is one of the core members of the Proskauer team representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico (FOMB) in its successful restructuring of Puerto Rico’s $74 billion debt load, and the ongoing restructuring of its power system. Jordan also played a lead role in representing an ad hoc group of unsecured creditors to Genesis Global Capital owed a collective $2.5 billion of fiat and cryptocurrency as of the bankruptcy filing, securing the greatest fully in-kind recovery among any crypto bankruptcy case, with creditors entitled to recover up to the full amount of BTC and other crypto assets deposited, without limitation to the filing date value of such assets.

Jordan earned his J.D. at Washington University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and has a B.A. in Political Science from McGill University. While in law school, Jordan was a student clerk for the Honorable Barry S. Schermer of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Eighth Circuit. Prior to law school, he worked as a bankruptcy technician for a major Canadian accounting firm.
