Companies and executives facing government investigations rely on Greg to provide strategic counsel to manage their risk and achieve an acceptable outcome.

A fierce advocate, Greg defends companies and individuals—including directors and other executives—in government investigations and related civil and criminal litigation. Drawing on his experience as a former prosecutor with the US Department of Justice, Greg has credibility with DOJ and federal agencies around the country to help clients navigate potential parallel civil, regulatory, and criminal proceedings. Understanding that timing is critical in any government investigation, Greg leverages in-depth knowledge of key inflection points in the case to drive solutions.

Greg's demeanor and responsiveness put clients at ease in disputes with the government where corporate reputation and governance, personal liberty, and serious financial risk are on the line. He advises corporate boards, officers and individuals in achieving results aligned with each client’s interests and objectives.

Greg handles complex civil and criminal cases, including under various state and federal environmental statutes, and in every phase of False Claims Act (FCA) proceedings, including government investigation and declination, litigation with relators and DOJ, the Granston Memo, suspension and debarment, and appeal. Greg also counsels museums and collectors in responding to investigations by foreign nations and state and federal governments regarding the provenance, repatriation, and forfeiture of pieces of artwork.

Greg leads the firm’s Government Investigation and White Collar Defense practice.
