Partner specialising on private and public M&A transactions, including takeovers and equity capital markets transactions, corporate governance matters and shareholders disputes.

Recent work includes advising: Crédit Agricole Assurances (Predica), among others, on the 1.7-billion-euro action plan adopted by Clariane to strengthen its financial structure with the support of Predica in its capacity as key shareholder, on its participation in a 850-million-euro Series C capital injection in Verkor, a company specialized in EV batteries, on GIC’s investment in Vauban Infra Fibre, France’s largest independent digital infrastructure platform, in its capacity as minority shareholder of Vauban Infra Fibre, on its acquisition of a minority stake of 30% in Innergex France, a long-term developer and operator of renewable energy facilities, alongside its listed Canadian controlling shareholder, and on its acquisition of a 24.31% stake in Océinde Communications, a premier fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) operator on Réunion Island; and Groupe Canal+ on the acquisition from Orange of the OCS pay-TV package and its film and series co-production subsidiary, Orange Studio.

Career

François Baylion started his career at Gide in 2009 before joining BDGS Associés in 2013 where he became partner in 2019.

Personal

François Baylion is also non-executive chairman of the board of an investment company under the supervision of the ACPR.

François Baylion teaches the legal aspects of the executive directors’ remuneration in listed companies at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.
