Eric Sloan

Eric advises clients on a wide range of transactions, with a focus on complex transactions, including the use of partnerships and limited liability companies in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as spin-offs and corporate M&A. He is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading experts on partnership taxation and on “UP-C” IPOs. He has a substantial private letter ruling practice, including rulings on partnership disguised sale issues, corporate spin offs, and qualified settlement funds.

He is the co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s global tax practice, a past Vice Chair, Government Relations, of the ABA Tax Section and a past chair of its Partnership Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA Tax Section and a past co-chair of its Partnership Committee. He is also a frequent speaker and widely published author.
