Emily is a well-respected, highly sought after family specialist who practises in both finance (including inheritance and schedule 1 applications) and private children matters. Renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and ability to swiftly identify the central issues in a case. Her caseload includes the span of modest asset cases to high net worth and complex cases, including against silks, involving business structures, pensions, farming assets, insolvency and bankruptcy, nuptial agreements, and trusts. She represents clients pre-issue through to appeal.

Emily is a strong advocate of non-court dispute resolution and is frequently instructed to represent clients at mediations, pFDR hearings, early neutral evaluations, and arbitrations. She also sits as a pFDR Evaluator across a wide spectrum of family and property law disputes. Emily is also one of a small handful of practitioners nationwide qualified both as a Children and Finance Arbitrator.

Appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019 at the age of 30, Emily is ticketed to hear civil, children (public and private law) and financial remedy matters.

Emily frequently delivers seminars to other members of the profession, and she lectures for the Judicial College. Emily is a contributor to leading legal publications, serves as a case reviewer for Nagalro, co-authors Cohabitation: Law, Practice and Precedents, and is responsible for the financial remedies chapters in Butterworths Family Law Service and Butterworths Civil Law Service.

Emily is on the Financial Remedies Journal Editorial Board and is Editor of the hugely successful Blog.
