Edin Karakaš

Edin Karakaš specializes in domestic and international dispute resolution and investment law. He advises clients on litigation cases and domestic and international arbitration (UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID and PAC-CCE), and works on both commercial and investment treaty disputes.

Edin regularly works on corporate projects. He is currently engaged on a corporate governance project for the EBRD aimed at improving corporate governance and disclosure practices of companies listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange. Edin also works for Croatian postal company where he deals with detailed analysis of corporate governance model and recommendations for its improvement.

Edin has been the firm’s lead finance lawyer on numerous banking, finance and capital markets transactions. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, he has advised on the finance side of large M&A and private equity deals, project finance, refinancing and capital markets. Edin regularly advises international financial institutions on all aspects of their operations in Croatia, including regulatory advice and support on offering complex financial products to Croatian customers (swaps, derivatives, cash pooling...). He frequently advises on complex contemporary matters that periodically come up, such as harmonization of legislation with new EU directives, zero-floor interest rates or the impact of Brexit on doing business in Croatia.
