Dianne Cowie is a Director of Housing at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. She specialises in landlord and tenant matters including; disrepair, tenants and leaseholders in ensuring repairs are carried out and compensation is obtained, possession proceedings, tenancy disputes, injunctions, committal proceedings, homelessness appeals and judicial reviews.
She also advises on rent arrears, breaches of tenancies, and allegations of anti-social behaviour. Dianne is highly experienced in possession matters involving vulnerable clients and she assists in the running of various pro bono clinics across South London in order to reach the most vulnerable in society. Dianne represented a vulnerable tenant in a possession matter and, subsequently, a homelessness matter. She successfully settled the complex possession matter, clearing arrears of £10,000. She then ensured that a duty to house her client was accepted by the local authority by appealing their decision not to accept it on the basis of her client not being eligible due to their status.
