Derek Ludwin is co-chair of Covington’s antitrust litigation practice and advises clients on high-stakes antitrust litigation, government investigations, transactions, and compliance issues. He has significant experience helping clients successfully navigate difficult, multi-faceted litigations, and has built a record of achieving positive outcomes.

Mr. Ludwin's recent antitrust litigation successes include a dismissal of antitrust claims against a major multi-employer bargaining unit (New York's League of Voluntary Hospitals and Homes), a favourable settlement in the Seaman v. Duke "no poach" antitrust litigation (and related Department of Justice intervention), a Ninth Circuit affirmance in favour of the NFL in the Kelsey K. class action antitrust litigation, a Ninth Circuit affirmance in favour of the U.S. Olympic Committee in the Run Gum litigation, and DOJ’s determination to let the Discovery/Scripps merger proceed without conditions after a significant investigation.

Mr. Ludwin is also frequently sought out for guidance when clients are considering significant ventures, licensing arrangements, and other transactions with potential antitrust issues. Clients also rely on him to implement compliance programs, and to provide training to their senior executives and key employees.
