David P Sanders

David Sanders has served for many years as Associate General Counsel at Jenner & Block, advising the firm on a wide array of matters arising from its global operations. In addition, he has litigated complex business disputes in both trial and appellate courts across the nation over his nearly five-decade legal career with Jenner & Block.

As former Chair of the firm’s Media and First Amendment practice, David has represented numerous well known media clients, including national television broadcast networks, local television and radio broadcasters, newspaper, magazine and book publishers, and website operators. He has litigated countless high-profile matters for these clients and provided non-litigation counsel on a wide variety of media law issues, such as libel, privacy, newsgathering, subpoenas, copyright, and other issues that impact their business activities.

Chambers USA has identified David as a top media lawyer in Illinois 20 years in a row based on client reviews, including one calling him “one of the pre-eminent lawyers in the state.” He previously served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the Northwestern University School of Law.
