Daniel Seoane

Daniel Seoane is a partner at Beccar Varela, where he leads the Insurance and Reinsurance Law Department and the Maritime Law Department. He focuses on advising national and international clients on matters related to insurance and reinsurance, as well as admiralty law, including corporate and mergers and acquisitions, regulatory affairs, contracts, and maritime insurance and reinsurance claims.

Daniel began his career in insurance companies. He joined Beccar Varela in 1997, focusing his practice on comprehensive advice to insurance companies, including corporate issues, regulatory, inspections, product approval, marketing agreements, agreements with reinsurers, awards collection agreements, claims reports, trials, among others. In 2010, he was appointed Legal Director at Royal & Sun Alliance Seguros Argentina (later on Seguros Sura). In 2017, he assumed as regional Legal Vice President at Suramericana S.A., based in Colombia, focusing on various aspects of the insurance business, conducting mergers and acquisitions of insurance companies, and defining and implementing legal strategies from the corporate office side. In 2018, he returned to Beccar Varela as partner to lead the firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Department, and the Maritime Law Department.

He obtained his Law degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires (1995).

He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association and the International Bar Association (IBA). He coordinates the Insurance/Reinsurance Practice Group of the Latin American section of World Services Group.

He speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
