Daniel JT McKenna is the co-chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Consumer Financial Services Group and co-leader of the State Attorneys General Consumer Finance Response Team.

Dan focuses his practice on consumer financial services litigation and compliance. He advises on Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and servicing compliance and represents clients in individual and class litigation and arbitration in credit card, lease to own, mortgage, debt collection, auto loan, and servicing matters. His clients include banks and nonbank lenders, LTO and RTO, mortgage lenders and servicers, third-party service providers, auto lenders, and retailers.

Dan is also well-known for representing clients in class actions and mass actions brought under the TCPA, the FCRA, and state corollaries. He also handles multiple multimillion dollar portfolios of single plaintiff litigation involving claims under the TCPA, the FCRA, the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), the Alternative Mortgage Transaction Parity Act (AMTPA), the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and state Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) statutes.

Dan has trial experience in both federal and state courts and very significant experience with JAMS and AAA arbitrations, including mass arbitrations. Consumer financial services industry groups seek him out to speak on emerging FCRA, TCPA, and arbitration issues.
