Michael Ostermeyer has 30 years of experience advising clients in the commercial real estate space. A strategic, results-oriented advocate who combines formal business training with considerable depth in corporate portfolios and public real estate projects, he is known for his ability to provide practical solutions that reflect an understanding of the business landscape and stand the test of time. He is Practice Leader of the firm's Corporate Real Estate Group.
Mike represents national, regional, and governmental owners and investors of real property in three areas:
Guiding public development and public infrastructure projects
Advising corporate, commercial, industrial, and institutional clients—and others who own real estate as an operating asset—on portfolio management, including restructuring and disposition in distress situations
Developing commercial, institutional, and industrial real estate
Day to day, Mike oversees the handling of significant real estate assets, including multisite portfolios. He has substantial experience with merger and acquisitions and balance sheet transactions, and has handled significant developed and undeveloped assets in the context of large retail bankruptcies. He also regularly advises clients on the real estate aspects of municipal and tribal law, as well as on acquisition, disposition, and financing of ground lease interests.
Mike also has deep experience advising investors, developers, and government clients engaged in public development and infrastructure projects, including public-private partnerships for healthcare facilities, arts and entertainment projects, sports and convention facilities, and schools.
