A high in demand counsel, Claire has a well-regarded civil and commercial law practice, with particular expertise in high commercial and reputational value matters involving mining, construction & infrastructure, competition & consumer law, financial services regulation, corporations law and commercial property disputes.
She appears in teams or as sole counsel in both state and federal jurisdictions at trial and appellate level, and also in international arbitrations concerning some of Australia’s most complex and high profile matters. Her clients include public and private corporations, as well as government entities. In 2018, Claire was briefed to appear with Counsel Assisting in the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. She complements her consumer regulation practice by sitting on the Law Council of Australia’s Competition & Consumer Committee. Claire’s client appraisal includes that for her ease of use, incisive preparation and “gifted” advocacy.
Before being called to the Bar, Claire worked in the commercial litigation group of a global law firm. Prior to that she was the Associate to Justice Patrick Keane in the Queensland Court of Appeal.
