Charlie Malone

Charlie is a Partner practising in the areas of corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities law. He has significant experience in a wide range of corporate and securities transactions with a particular emphasis on public and private mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions across a range of industries.

Charlie regularly acts as counsel to issuers and underwriters on a wide variety of matters, including domestic and cross-border acquisitions of public and private companies, public offerings and private placements, compliance with securities legislation and other regulatory requirements. He also advises domestic and foreign issuers, boards of directors, special committees and other transaction participants on the structuring of a wide variety of merger and acquisition and corporate finance transactions, compliance with fiduciary duties and applicable laws and other governance matters.

Charlie served on the Ontario Securities Commission's Small and Medium Enterprises Committee from 2014 to 2015 and from 2013 to 2015 was a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business MBA class on select legal issues for Canadian private and public mergers and acquisitions.

As Co-Chair of the firm’s Professional Standards Committee and a member of the M&A Practice Group, Charlie participates in a number of practice initiatives at the firm, including continuing legal education and student and lawyer recruitment.
