Charles Butcher

Charles is the Asia Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland and leads the M&A team in the region. He serves as a member of Eversheds Sutherland's global International Leadership Team.

Based in Hong Kong since 2007, Charles’ practice focuses on regional and international cross-border transactions and investments. He has represented clients on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, restructurings and financing transactions throughout the Asia-Pacific region including Greater China, Africa, Australasia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and on outbound investments across the globe including in Europe, the US and the Middle East.

Charles has extensive experience leading complex multi-jurisdictional projects and providing structuring, governance and strategic advice to international corporate, institutional and private equity clients.

Charles has particular industry experience in the financial services, TMT, energy and natural resources, consumer and industrial sectors.
