Career

Catalina Navarro has been a partner at Estudio Navarro Abogados since 2014 and brings over two decades of experience in criminal law, with a career closely linked to the implementation and development of Chile’s criminal procedure reform. Her in-depth understanding of the criminal justice system enables her to engage effectively with its institutional actors and navigate complex litigation scenarios.

She has held senior roles in the public sector, including serving as Head of the Intersectoral Projects Department at the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security, Head of the Economic Crimes Unit at the National Prosecutor’s Office, and as part of the Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention. This background has given her exceptional expertise in coordinating public–private initiatives and managing multi-agency projects.

Catalina’s practice focuses on economic crimes, complex criminal litigation, corporate compliance, internal regulations, employer control measures, and drug policy. She also advises on public–private coordination strategies and preventive measures to mitigate legal risks.

She holds a Law degree from Universidad Diego Portales, a Master’s in Tax Management and Planning from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, a Diploma in Economic Crimes from Universidad Alberto Hurtado, and a Diploma in Business Labour Law from Universidad de Los Andes. She is accredited in litigation by the University of the Pacific, California, and in 2022 completed the “Effective Boards” program at the Chilean Institute of Directors (IdDC). Catalina has also been invited by the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Department of State to participate in the International Leadership Program on IP Enforcement and Money Laundering.
