Carlos Aiza is a Senior Partner of Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, where he heads the Financial Services practice group and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Mr. Aiza practices in the areas of banking and securities law with an emphasis in corporate and structured finance, capital markets, real estate finance, project finance, asset securitization, derivatives and workouts.
He has worked on the most innovative finance and capital markets transactions in Mexican history, including the first-ever Mexican cross-border whole loan, mortgage-backed and auto loan securitizations, the first-ever asset-backed commercial paper conduit, the first-ever public listing of equity development certificates known as CKDs, the first-ever infrastructure and energy investment trust (Mexican Master Limited Partnership known as FIBRA E) IPO, the first-ever Special Purpose Acquisition Company IPO, the second-ever and the three largest real estate investments trust (FIBRA) IPOs, and two of the largest Mexican workouts in recent history.
Mr. Aiza has authored several articles on banking, structured finance and capital markets matters.
Mr. Aiza obtained his law degree (JD) from Universidad Iberoamericana School of Law and a LL.M degree from Georgetown University Law.
