Career
More than 20 years of litigation experience, including the representation of taxpayers before the Brazilian Higher Courts, adding legal, economic and market data as amicus curiae in leading cases as the application of tax penalties, incidence of social contributions (PIS and COFINS) on the service tax, taxation of the maternity leave, one-third extra holiday pay and outsourcing. Breno leads relevant lawsuits regarding services tax and federal taxes, involving the main topics under discussion in Brazil. He is also at the forefront of innovative thesis and projects involving the technology for the monitoring of case law, awarded by other rankings, and public policies, due to his involvement in relevant academic research at FGV and Insper, in which he is also a Professor. In the tax advisory sphere, he is highly recognized for his work on social security issues, involving the efficient structuring of compensation programs from a labor and tax perspective, and has also been representing companies and industry associations in the legislative process of the tax reform - including participation in public hearings before the National Congress - as well as assisting businesses in its implementation, being recognized as one of the most active professionals in the field.
