Career

Bernarda is a senior associate member of the litigation, arbitration, and public law teams at CorralRosales. Her practice is centered on civil, commercial, and administrative litigation within highly regulated sectors. She possesses extensive expertise in national and international commercial arbitration, and has solid experience in investment arbitration, which she honed at the International Centre for the Settlement of Investments Disputes (ICSID). Bernarda also provides advisory services to domestic and foreign clients on corporate, real estate, and due diligence matters.

She earned her bachelor’s degree with cum laude honors from Universidad San Francisco de Quito. During her studies, she served as teaching assistant for several courses, editor of USFQ’s Law Review, and member of the university’s team for national and international arbitration competitions. Bernarda holds an LL.M degree with a certificate in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from Georgetown University, where she attended as an International Arbitration Scholar. At Georgetown, she served as Vice-President of the International Arbitration Society (GIAS) and as a research assistant for the Center for the Advancement for the Rule of Law in the Americas (CAROLA). She is set to be admitted to the New York State Bar in November 2024.

Bernarda is an active member of the Executive Committee of Ecuadorian Very Young Arbitration Practitioners and the organizing committee for the National Arbitration Competition in Ecuador. She is affiliated with the Ecuadorian Institute of Arbitration, Young ITA, Young ICCA, and Arbitraje Alumni. Previously, she served as Coordinator for both the Ecuadorian Institute of Arbitration and the Ecuadorian Arbitration Review, and as ambassador for Arbitrator Intelligence for Latin America.
