Bastian Finkel is a Partner at BLD and co-heads the Financial and Professional Lines department with his colleague Björn Seitz. He is also part of the management board of the firm and responsible for the International Insurance practice. Bastian advises insurers with regard to complex national and international claims and has published a reference book on D&O insurance. Recent examples of his activity were his coordination and monitoring of various major D&O cases in Germany around the Volkswagen Diesel-emission scandal, anti-trust and compliance issues involving large corporations and financial institutions, insolvencies and in connection with so called cum/ex-deals. Most recently his practice was also dominated by instructions with a focus on legal advice and litigation in the area of GDPR. Besides his German education, Bastian has successfully finished American schooling and has a notable reputation in the London market.
