Barbara Pontecorvo

Barbara Pontecorvo is Chief Executive Officer of PwC Legal STA and specialises in corporate and commercial law, with extensive experience in complex M&A transactions and corporate reorganizations at both domestic and cross-border levels. She is a qualified lawyer with over 20 years of experience, combining transactional expertise with a solid background in civil litigation.

Prior to joining PwC Legal STA, she was an Equity Partner in a Big Four firm and leading law firms. She assists private and state-owned companies, multinational groups, financial institutions, asset management companies, and investment funds in both contentious and non-contentious matters.

She advises leading Italian and international clients, with a focus on institutional relationships, and is recognized for managing high-value, multi-jurisdictional transactions, leveraging the capabilities of the PwC global network. She also focuses on emerging technologies and digital transformation and has coordinated institutional missions abroad, particularly in Italy–Israel relations.

Member of the Rome Bar since 1996; admitted to practice before the higher courts since 2012.

Author of legal publications and speaker at national and international conferences on corporate law and innovation.

Graduated cum laude in Law from Sapienza University of Rome; attended executive programmes at Yale, UC San Diego, and Tufts University.
