Axel advises both corporate issuers as well as banks on a wide range of capital markets transactions and his expertise includes corporate bonds, equity-linked instruments, regulatory capital and liability management. In addition, he regularly advises on structured finance transactions and portfolio sales.

Axel also has extensive experience in financial services regulation and advises banks, asset managers, investment firms, settlement institutions, payment institutions and other financial institutions on a wide array of topics (including bank regulation, Fintech services, investment/broker dealer services, funds regulation and distribution, prudential & licensing requirements, governance issues, etc.). He is also an expert in ESG regulation and sustainable finance (Taxonomy Regulation, CSRD, CSDDD, Green Bond Regulation) and advises corporates and financial institutions on compliance, risk management and governance matters.

He often publishes articles on financial law, capital markets law and sustainable finance, and frequently speaks at seminars and sector events on these topics.
