Practice Areas

Amy is highly regarded nationally in the area of employee health benefits as well as ERISA Title I. She is the co-head of the Winston & Strawn Health & Welfare benefits practice. She regularly assists clients in strategically designing health and welfare as well as fringe benefit programs. She provides proactive and practical advice with respect to compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and the Internal Revenue Code. Amy has assisted clients in setting up on-site health clinics and wellness programs. She has been instrumental in structuring retiree medical programs, as well as funding vehicles. Amy has advised private equity fund clients on how to qualify as a VCOC and a REOC. She supports clients that are ERISA plan asset funds, and those who choose to keep their plan asset investors at a non-significant level. She assists clients in strategically negotiating favorable contracts with vendors. Amy has represented clients in matters and investigations involving government entities such as the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services.
