John Schreiber is chair of Winston & Strawn’s Los Angeles Litigation Practice and the Hiring Partner for the firm’s LA office.  Having started his career in New York, John maintains a bi-coastal practice. He has been recognized by numerous legal directories – including The Legal 500, Law360 and Benchmark Litigation – as “a first rate advocate” with “excellent courtroom judgment” (The Legal 500) and “credibility with judges” (Law360).

John regularly represents public and private companies and their officers and directors in a broad range of complex commercial disputes, including securities class actions, pre- and post-closing M&A litigation, shareholder derivative suits, board-level investigations, and other corporate governance matters. In his over 20-year career, he has successfully represented clients in a variety of industries, including: technology; financial services; pharmaceuticals and medical devices; private equity; infrastructure; retail and consumer products; beverage alcohol; and sports and entertainment.

John is also a member of the Bank Receivership Task Force, created in March of 2023.
