For two decades, Allen Pegg has concentrated his practice in complex litigation, arbitration, and appellate work, and he now leads the Miami office’s litigation team.
Allen’s clients rely on his judgment and broad range of experience to help them resolve their most difficult matters. Whether involving disputes arising from healthcare or financial services, business torts, class action defense, or corporate governance issues, clients turn to Allen as a trusted advisor. Among his specialties, Allen regularly represents some of the nation’s largest health insurers in suits challenging out-of-network payments, claims processing, other payment practices, ERISA, fraud, and various manners of alleged contract claims.
Regardless of the forum, Allen approaches each case with a unique perspective on how best to tailor his strategy to accomplish his client's particular goals. He has first-chaired numerous jury trials, bench trials, and arbitral hearings, and has briefed and argued dozens of appeals in state and federal courts.
Allen is regularly regarded as a top practitioner in commercial litigation by various publications, including Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, and the South Florida Legal Guide.
Allen is also continuously giving back to the community. He regularly handles an array of pro bono matters, and for more than a dozen years, he was a member of the federal appellate list for Criminal Justice Act appointments.
In 2010, the Chief Judge of the Southern District of Florida appointed Allen to the Southern District of Florida's Local Rules Committee, on which Allen has served ever since.
Following law school, Allen served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and to the Honorable Rosemary Barkett, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
