As a leader of our tax controversy & litigation practice Alex has extensive experience in advising multinational companies on all stages of tax controversy. He represents clients before the tax authorities in the context of tax audits and all court instances, including the Supreme Administrative Court. He currently litigates some of the biggest tax assessments ever made in Greece and has won multi-million tax disputes concerning income tax and VAT. Alex has also successfully challenged before the courts the legality of taxes, leading to their abolishment.
Alex also specialises in VAT and other indirect taxes (including stamp duty and insurance premium tax) and has extensive experience in advising on the indirect tax treatment of a broad range of cross-border and local transactions carried out by multinational companies. He regularly advises on the indirect tax aspects of corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions. Alex works with multinational clients across most industries, including financial and insurance services, real estate, public procurement, energy, IT, aviation, pharma, travel and retail.
