Career
Ai-Leen Lim leads AWA Asia’s offices as CEO and Principal Counsel, managing its
headquarters in Hong Kong and its wholly-owned Chinese IP consultancy in Beijing.
She is admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore and is qualified to practise
in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
For more than 23 years she has advised clients on IP portfolio management in China,
in Hong Kong and internationally, with a special focus on brand management and IP
strategy. She is experienced in contentious and non-contentious trademark, design and
patent registration, protection and enforcement matters.
Ai-Leen has worked with some of the world’s most valuable brands and innovation-rich
companies on intellectual property, advertising, consumer law, social media and the
related regulatory issues in conjunction with market entry and product promotion in China,
whether as a key global market or a location for the manufacturing activities of international
companies.
Her clients range from IP-rich fast-growing start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Ai-Leen’s
extensive branding experience provides her with the unique ability to evaluate brands
as an intangible asset, enabling clients to build, maintain and protect their brand as part of
an overall IP strategy.
