Career

Managing Partner and founder of BARLAW – Barrera & Asociados. Since 2011, she has worked to transform the role of women in the legal profession, breaking barriers and empowering her colleagues to lead change in the industry.

With over 28 years of experience, she is recognised as a leading figure in intellectual property litigation, with a strong track record in trademark, copyright, and patent cases. She also played a key role in shaping IP enforcement standards in Peru. Adriana advises clients on brand protection and asset registration, and is highly skilled in drafting agreements that ensure long-term legal security.

She is equally committed to supporting entrepreneurs through pro bono work, helping emerging businesses protect their IP rights. Adriana has been recognised by Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, WTR 1000, Leaders League, MIP, IP STARS, Latin Lawyer and WIPR. She is the only woman in Peru recognised in piracy and enforcement matters, and was most recently appointed by UNIFAB as a Peruvian expert in anti-counterfeiting.
