Recent work includes IPOs for Burger King Brazil, Carrefour Brazil and Hapvida Participações e Investimentos on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. Other recent work includes transactions by MSU Energy in Argentina; Eneva, General Shopping and Totvs in Brazil; Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (Bci) in Chile; Cementos Pacasmayo in Peru; and América Móvil and Comisión Federal de Electricidad in Mexico. The firm has also advised on sovereign debt offerings by the Republic of Guatemala and the Republic of Peru, as well as the managers on over $14 billion of offerings for the Dominican Republic since 2005.

Simpson Thacher is recognised globally for its role on behalf of parties on all sides of complex M&A transactions, buyouts, stock and asset purchases, restructurings, spin-offs, joint ventures and contested transactions. The firm is also a worldwide leader in private equity transactions, including private equity investments. Recent M&A experience includes advising advising Netshoes in its proposed merger with a subsidiary of Magazine Luiza; The Boeing Company in its acquisition of an 80% interest in Embraer’s commercial aviation business; Grupo Rizek in its acquisition of Scotia Crecer AFP and Scotia Seguros, Scotiabank’s pension and pensionrelated insurance businesses in the Dominican Republic; and Trademark Group, of Panama, and Laboratorios Stein, of Costa Rica, in the sale to Eurofarma of a portfolio of pharmaceutical products distributed in Central America, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
Banking & Finance:
