The Family Team has extensive experience in handling a wide range of family law matters. They focus on understanding clients’ needs and priorities, developing a strong rapport with them and becoming their trusted advisor for legal and non-legal matters.

Private Client:

The Private Client team has worked with thousands of clients over the years to ensure that they and their families are well looked after both before and on their death, and that the deceased’s wishes are acted upon as planned. The Private Client team specialises in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Deputyships, Administration of Estates, Probate, and Trusts, and has particular expertise in acting for clients in later life, as well as succession planning for high net worth individuals.

Residential Property:

The Residential Property team provides a personal, quality service that is backed by properly trained and qualified staff and up to date technology. They aim to be available to clients at all stages of the process because they understand the importance of communicating with everyone involved and acting quickly. As experienced Residential Property specialists, they are able to minimise any problems which may occur, making sure that clients are fully kept informed of situations as they arise so that they can make appropriate decisions and arrangements. They have excellent local knowledge of Wiltshire and surrounding areas, and equally good relationships with local agents.

The Real Estate team which comprises of individuals across housebuilding, land, development and commercial property sectors, advise across all industries, with particular expertise in the house building, professional services, agriculture, manufacturing and hospitality sectors. They also advise on all types of landlord and tenant, acquisition, disposal and property finance for a wide range of clients including landed estates, SME’s, banks and commercial property portfolio holders. Within the team, experts specialise in Land and Development, offering a service specifically designed for SME private housebuilders, land promoters and landowners acting on projects ranging from bespoke sites of 5 units to major strategic urban expansion of 1000+ units.

Corporate & Commercial:

The Corporate & Commercial team provide a bespoke, professional yet pragmatic service to their business clients, supported by other members of the firm and trusted professional advisers. They advise across all industries, with particular expertise in the house building, professional services, agriculture, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors.The team has grown organically under Gemma Sumsion's expert guidance and leadership and is based out of the firm's Corporate and Real Estate hub.

Employment:

Goughs Employment team provide consistent and risk aware advice to employers and employees alike. Their aim is to support employers in running their businesses, providing them with tailored, comprehensive and practical advice on a range of different services including business re-organisations and redundancy, TUPE and change management, performance management and drafting contracts and policies. They also provide bespoke services for employees, including contract review, managing redundancy and dismissals, and dealing with disciplinaries and grievances.
