Tom is the Head of Family and an experienced family law specialist and advises a wide range of clients, both married and unmarried, on the implications of relationship breakdown. Typically his cases involve complex issues, and he specialises in matters which involve Trusts, pensions, and business structures. A large proportion of his work involves marital agreements, which include pre and post nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and cohabitation agreements.
He is also head of Goughs’ Farming and Rural Land team, a group of legal experts who work together to advise members of the agricultural community on their legal needs.
Career
Tom studied at Jesus College, Oxford, and the University of the West of England before joining Burges Salmon in 2003 where he subsequently qualified as a Solicitor.
He joined Goughs in April 2015, was made a Partner in 2016, and he is now the Head of the Family department.
