Stearns Weaver Miller’s Labor & Employment group provides employers with practical, business-oriented counseling and advice on labor and employment issues and with administrative and litigation matters at mediation and trial.
We work closely with clients to educate and train their managers and employees on workplace issues, audit employment practices, comply with wage-and-hour laws, draft employment agreements, protect trade secrets, realign workforces, and comply with EEO and affirmative action requirements and plans. We also have experience with immigration matters, including temporary visas and permanent residence for employees, non-immigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, TN, O, P, E), I-9 compliance, audits and inspections.
Clients include large, midsized and small employers: transportation, pharma, technology, healthcare, agriculture, cruise, building management, local retailers, automobile, hotels and restaurants, membership golf and country clubs, real estate developers, banks, accounting firms, service providers, other small businesses, independent schools, colleges and universities, professional sports franchises, and other law firms.
We also have “in the trenches” experience dealing with unions seeking to represent blue collar, white collar and professional employees, including collective bargaining, administrating union grievances, handling
arbitrations, managing union certifications and elections, and defending unfair labor disputes in court and before the NLRB.
