The Maples Group’s Jersey office provides full service Jersey legal advice in the corporate, finance and funds and investment management areas. Clients of the Jersey office include a wide range of international public and private companies, clearing and investment banks, global investment houses and institutional asset managers (hedge, private equity and venture capital).
The Maples Group’s London office provides legal advice on the laws of the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. In addition, through the Irish and Jersey desks, the London office offers clients in the region access to market leading Irish and Jersey legal advice from multiple locations.

Corporate:
The corporate teams are involved in a wide range of complex transactions relating to equity capital markets, listings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, restructuring and corporate advisory. Client-focused and partner-led teams provide an exceptionally proactive service that seeks to maximise the commercial advantage for clients while minimising legal risk.
Finance:
There are finance teams based in each office, delivering time zone convenience and multi-jurisdictional capability. They handle a variety of cross-border and complex matters relating to acquisition and leveraged financing, asset finance, banking, debt capital markets, derivatives, fund finance, insurance linked products, Islamic finance, project and development finance, real estate finance, repackaging and structured finance. They also provide listing services for client listings of debt and equity on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (for which they are the number one listing agent) and The International Stock Exchange. Clients include the world’s leading banks and other financial institutions, private equity groups, hedge funds and corporates.
Funds & Investment Management:
The teams, which includes the largest offshore funds team based in London, give expert advice on a wide range of fund related matters, including fund formation, fund maintenance and advice relating to issues arising from fund structuring, restructuring, dissolution and regulation. The teams act for an unparalleled cross section of participants in the global investment funds market, such as fund managers (including 11 of the top 15 European hedge fund managers by AUM) and their onshore law firms, depositaries, administrators, investment banks, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, prime brokers and audit firm structuring teams as well as other financial institutions..
Trusts:
The team advises some of the world’s largest private businesses, individual private clients, institutional trustees and other fiduciary service providers on matters concerning all types of private trusts and estate planning structures, as well as trusts and fiduciary arrangements used in commercial transactions. The team advises on private wealth trusts, commercial trusts, structures to effect charitable and philanthropic giving and trust litigation as well as drafting wills and applying for grants of representation in relation to the estates of deceased persons.
