Counsel, Polish-qualified lawyer with significant experience in advising and representing clients in litigation and arbitration disputes. His practice involves handling complex commercial, property and shareholder disputes, as well as contentious competition, regulatory and unfair competition disputes.
His recent experience includes the successful defence of:
- BNP Paribas Bank Polska in a high-profile class action litigation over damage claims brought by former clients of Amber Gold (a company considered Poland's largest pyramid scheme to date),
- a leading bank in Poland in a landmark and one of the first disputes concerning claims to invalidate a mortgage loan with a variable interest rate due to its link to WIBOR,
- mBank in litigation proceedings concerning damage claims brought by individuals alleging the bank’s negligence relating to the provision of banking services to a company offering forex-based financial products. All claims brought against our client have been dismissed by the Appeal Court, and, recently, the Supreme Court issued a decision to dismiss an appeal in cassation,
- a mining chemicals company in three landmark private enforcement litigation proceedings based on an alleged mining chemicals cartel and in proceedings before the Polish Competition Authority regarding the alleged cartel,
- a Finnish tools manufacturer with a global business on unfair trade practices and infringements concerning the client’s intellectual property rights (designs and copyrights) by its competition. These infringements related to the manufacturing and marketing of gardening tools imitating the client’s existing products,
- Orange Polska, the principal supplier of telecommunications services in Poland, in a precedent-setting case involving claims filed by P4 against Orange Polska and Polkomtel for compensation in connection with accusations made against Orange Polska and Polkomtel of abuse of their collective dominant position accompanied by unfair competition based claims.
