Piaras is Partner and Head of Banking & Finance and is also Co-Head of the Financial Services Sector Group.

Piaras' practice focuses on acquisition finance, cash flow, asset-based lending, real estate & development finance (with a particular focus on the residential, healthcare and alternative asset sectors), project/infrastructure funding as well as general secured and unsecured lending transactions. He also has extensive experience in relation to restructuring, bankrupticies, workouts and pre-enforcement strategies for secured creditors. He has also acted on a number of loan portfolios sales.

His clients include both Irish and international financial institutions and agencies, in addition to specialised lenders. Piaras has extensive experience in advising large corporates, PLCs, public bodies, institutional firms, qualifying investor funds (QIAIFs), ICAVS, unit trusts and other regulated entities on high-value lending transactions in addition to complex intercreditor arrangements.
