Yago Vázquez

Experience

Yago is a founding partner of Statim. He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Law. Yago develops his practice primarily in the areas of sport law, litigation, arbitration and TMT.

In the field of litigation, he has extensive experience in handling all type of complex disputes of international dimension, including litigation matters involving constitutional law, EU and competition law. He has acted in appeals before the Spanish Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, as well as and in applications to the European Court of Human Rights. His arbitration practice involves representing clients in international arbitrations administered by the main international institutions.

In sports law, Yago has over 20 years of experience advising different stakeholders in the sports and entertainment industry (clubs, athletes, agents, federations, artists, gamers, and e-gaming companies, among others) on contractual, regulatory, disciplinary, and litigation matters. He has intervened in more than 140 international arbitration proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS), based in Lausanne, Switzerland, involving disputes of all kinds (i.a. contractual disputes, disciplinary matters, governance, doping, ethics, match fixing, etc.).

In the TMT practice, he regularly advises companies in the audiovisual, film, and technological industries on issues of different nature (contractual matters, media rights, image rights, sponsorship contracts, tenders, agreements related to the development of software and technology, etc.), representing them before regulatory and administrative authorities, as well as in their commercial disputes.
