William R. Bennett III (Bill) concentrates his practice in international and maritime litigation and arbitration. He has handled many significant marine and shore-based disputes, including large casualties resulting in wrongful death and personal injury; marine construction casualties, collisions, allisions, groundings, sinkings and fire damage. He has frequently spoken on various maritime topics.
Bill previously sailed as an Unlimited Third Mate and worked aboard various vessels as Third Mate, Second Mate (limited tonnage), and Master (limited tonnage), including oil tankers, ocean-going tugs, dredges, and yachts.
Bill co-chairs Blank Rome's Maritime and International Trade Practice Group and is a is a member of our Maritime Emergency Response Team.
