Vivien Davies

Vivien Davies co-heads the Sanctions Group at Fieldfisher and is widely recognised for her deep expertise in international financial sanctions. With over 16 years of specialist experience advising on complex and often conflicting restrictive measures, she acts for global corporates and high-profile individuals on both contentious and advisory matters.

Vivien’s practice covers the full spectrum of sanctions issues, including prevention, compliance, risk mitigation and litigation. She is one of the few litigators in London with extensive experience challenging designations under multiple regimes, both under SAMLA and pre-Brexit frameworks, supported by more than 25 years of litigation experience.

Recent highlights include leading significant challenges to UK and EU sanctions listings, as well as advising on compliance assessments and potential breaches for major corporates. Her work spans sectors including financial services, travel, and engineering.

In addition to her sanctions practice, Vivien serves as Deputy Head of Global Disputes at Fieldfisher, leads the firm’s MENA Group, and sits on the Supervisory Board. She is also a member of the executive committee of the Arab Bankers Association, giving her unique insight into sanctions issues affecting the Middle East and North Africa.
