Vassiliy Zenov is a partner and Dentons’ Head of the Banking and Finance practice in Kazakhstan. He focuses on banking and finance, capital markets, financial regulations and derivatives.

Vassiliy has 15 years of legal experience and is highly recognized for his skills and unique experience in drafting banking and finance-related statutory amendments. He is an author of the legislative amendments on “close-out netting” in Kazakhstan, which were adopted in 2022. He also led the Dentons’ team in several matters which aimed to set up an effective legal framework for resolving and selling non-performing loans in Kazakhstan. In addition, Vassiliy drafted and negotiated Article 74-1 of the Kazakh Law on Use of Airspace, which envisages complex legal restrictions on foreign parties that own or may otherwise control Kazakh airlines.
