Career
Vasileios Petropoulos is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the University of Athens. Vasileios received his legal education at the Universities of Athens (LL.B., 2001) Munich (PhD in Criminal Law, 2005) and Zurich (PhD in Capital Market Law 2008), receiving a grant from the Greek state. He concluded his studies at the University of Munich (Post Doc “Habilitation” 2010) in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, European and International Criminal Law and Financial Criminal Law.
Professional Memberships
Vasileios is a meber of Patras Bar Association since 2003 and has been participating in the BoD of the Hellenic Association of Penal Law since 2017 (currently as treasurer). Vasileios is also a member in the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association, the European Criminal Bar Association and the International Association of Penal Law.
Publications
Vasileios has published several monographies and numerous articles in legal journals. He has participated in several legislative committees, and he is a member of the drafting committee of the legal journal of the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association, “Nova Criminalia”. He lectures at conferences on criminal law and criminal procedure.
