Practice Areas
Principal area of practice is criminal and criminal fraud work. Tom has particular expertise in cases involving complex expert and telephone evidence. In addition Tom's practice comprises police law, inquests and Judicial Review cases linked to criminal investigations.
Career
Called to the Bar in 1997 and took Silk in 2018. Appointed as a Special Advocate by the Attorney General in 2009 and as Junior Treasury Counsel at the Central Criminal Court in 2012 and Senior Treasury Counsel in 2017. In 2014 he was appointed to the Attorney General's Civil 'A' Panel. Appointed by the Lord Chancellor as member of the Criminal Procedure Rule Committee from 2004-11. Secretary of the Criminal Bar Association (2008-09). He also sits as a Judge in the Crown Court and in the County Court having been appointed a Recorder in 2012. Elected as a Bencher of the Middle Temple in 2017.
