Toby specialises in serious injury litigation. He represents both Claimants and Defendants in respect of claims arising out of accidents on the road, in public places and in the workplace. He is known for his thorough preparation and has a straightforward, collaborative approach. The majority of his instructions involve acquired brain, spinal cord or other serious orthopaedic injuries, often leading to amputation and/or chronic pain.

Work Highlights

During the last year, Toby has helped to recover damages in excess of £50 million, including a settlement of £23 million on behalf of a Claimant with a serious spinal cord injury. He has also successfully defended a liability only trial, successfully appealed a case management decision which wrongly permitted a Claimant to obtain expert evidence in the field of Neurology and helped to compromise a number of significant claims on behalf of Defendants and their insurers.
