Tim Stratford is Managing Partner in Covington's Beijing office. He advises international clients in China on trade policy, corporate and government affairs matters and Chinese companies expanding their businesses globally. As a former Assistant US Trade Representative, he is the most senior former US trade official resident in China. He also served as general counsel for General Motors China (1998-2005), Chairman of AmCham China (2000-01), and Commercial Minister-Counselor at US Embassy Beijing (1989-92). Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
