Personal

Lawrence Yu is a partner of our Corporate Department and a member of our Labor and Employment Practice Group. He specializes in employment issues (including wrongful termination, discrimination claim, claims for severance pays and retirement benefits, and claims for occupational accidents) as well as mediation, arbitration, administrative proceeding and collective bargaining. He also advises clients on employment policies and practices, including hiring, termination, employee handbook, employee welfare, early retirement, mass redundancy, negotiation with labor unions and other matters. He has represented clients in various commercial disputes over insurance, copyright, consumer protection, product and professional liability, unfair competition, trade secrets. Recently, he has successfully defended an international insurance company against a copyright infringement claim. Lawrence also provides advice and guidance to domestic and foreign-based clients on how to resolve a dispute and to achieve their business objectives. He has been named by the Asia Law & Practice as one of the most recommended Asian lawyers in the practice area of Labor and Employment since 2007. He was also recognized as a leading lawyer in Chambers Asia in 2009.
