Þórir focuses on commercial, corporate and finance dispute resolution and has over ten-year experience in complex, high-value domestic and cross-border dispute resolution matters. Thorir leads this BBA//Fjeldco dispute practice. Among recent relevant experience includes acting for LBI (Landsbanki Íslands, Bank) in three separate tort proceedings, combined value exceeding ISK 50 billion. Thorir also advised on three identical cases concerning issues on pre-emptive rights to shares in a major organisation. The issues on pre-emptive rights will create precedent. Our client is seeking acknowledgment of his pre-emptive rights and exercise thereof, while the counterparty argues that such rights were not effectively exercised due to deadlines and breach of formal conditions.
