Thomas Talén

Thomas Talén is Head of Employment at Ro Sommernes and has more than 20 years’ experience advising private and public-sector clients on individual and collective employment law.

His practice has particular strength in transactional employment matters, including mergers and acquisitions, demergers, transfers of undertakings (TUPE), corporate restructurings and post-merger integrations, alongside collective employment law, compliance and senior personnel issues. Over the past few years, he has advised on more than 60 transactions across buy-side and sell-side mandates, mergers, demergers and transfers of undertakings.

Thomas advises a broad mix of major Norwegian and international clients and combines transactional work with complex restructuring, collective employment, compliance and contentious mandates.

Thomas is currently recognised as a Leading Partner for Employment in Norway by The Legal 500 and is ranked Band 4 by Chambers Europe 2026, where he has now been ranked for two consecutive years. Chambers describes him as an experienced practitioner across restructuring, temporary employment, regulatory compliance, governance, privacy and whistleblowing, including matters with a cross-border element.
