Håvard Wiker works with business law in general, focusing on bankruptcy, restructuring and debt negotiations. He is head of the firm's insolvency and restructuring department and is regularly appointed as trustee by the Probate and Bankruptcy Courts in Norway.
Wiker started as an associate in Ro Sommernes in 1993 and joined the firm as partner in 1996.
Håvard Wiker has for the last 16 years been a member of the Norwegian Bar Association’s committee of bankruptcy, lien, enforcement and debt recovery, and chair of the committee for the last six years.
Wiker is the co-author of a leading commentary on the Norwegian Bankruptcy Act (Konkursloven — kommentarutgave), co-written with Knut Ro and published by Universitetsforlaget in 2003. The work provides comprehensive commentary on each provision of the Bankruptcy Act of 6 August 1984 (No. 58), and serves as a key practical reference in the handling of debt negotiations and insolvency proceedings.
Wiker is also a contributing author to Norsk Lovkommentar, published by Gyldendal Rettsdata, where he has authored commentaries on the Bankruptcy Act (Konkursloven), the Creditors' Recovery Act (Dekningsloven) and the Wage Guarantee Act (Lønnsgarantiloven).
