Thanathip (TIP) Pichedvanichok is the Founding and Senior Partner of Thanathip & Partners and one of Thailand’s most respected M&A and capital markets lawyers. With more than 25 years of experience, TIP is widely recognised for his work on Thailand’s largest and most complex public and private transactions. He advises leading Thai corporates, global investment banks, private equity sponsors and regulators.
TIP specialises in public and private M&A, corporate finance, capital markets, IPOs, privatisations, fundraisings, listings, SEC-related regulatory matters and corporate restructurings. Known for his calm, strategic approach, he regularly leads high-value deals involving SET-listed companies and cross-border elements.
Some of his notable transactions include advising on CPN’s acquisition of Siam Future Development; Groupe Casino’s acquisition of Big C Supercenter; GE’s disposal of its interest in Bank of Ayudhya; SCB Group’s proposed acquisition of Bitkub Online; Allianz’s strategic alliance with Ayudhya Capital; FIDF’s disposal of BankThai; Linden Capital’s acquisition of LifeStyles Healthcare; Swiss Re’s exit from Muang Thai Holding; BNP Paribas’s divestment of Cetelem Thailand; and Siam Makro’s F&B and retail sector transactions.
Before founding the firm in 2005, TIP served as the sole Thai partner at Linklaters Bangkok from 1998 to 2004, where he established and led the Thai M&A and capital markets practice. He also spent seven years on Thailand’s Takeover Panel, appointed by the SEC, and has been an independent director and audit committee member of a Thai listed company for nearly 20 years.
TIP is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Asia-Pacific and is regularly recognised by The Legal 500 (“Leading Individual”), IFLR1000 (“Highly Regarded”), and Asia Business Law Journal, where he has been listed among Thailand’s Top 100 Lawyers and named a 2024 Thailand Legal Icon.
